The trustees who manage our lovely community hall are looking for someone local to fill the role of secretary.
Trustees meet for a couple of hours every two months and agendas need to be prepared for the meetings. Minutes need to be kept and distributed by email. There are also some administrative tasks in between meetings.
The trustees already have a strong management team in place and outgoing secretary, Kevin Froude, has kindly offered to hold the hand of anyone new to the role.
All expenses would be covered, including the cost of childcare, if needed, to cover the meetings, which are in the evening from 7-9pm.
This is an opportunity to be part of an important focus in the community, so please give chairman Michael Bell a call on 01273 473617 or contact the hall manager on 07762 118 985 or clerk@hamsey.net.

The local NCT group who meet every Tuesday at Beechwood Hall have been nominated in a National Awards scheme.
The nominees for the prestigious What's On 4 2013 Junior Awards in association with Konfidence have just been announced and the NCT Lewes & Countryside branch are amongst them!
This exciting awards programme, which is supported by ABC Magazine, is now in its 7th year and celebrates the best activities, classes, volunteers and venues from throughout the UK as nominated and voted for by the experts - parents and parents-to-be.
NCT Lewes & Countryside branch has been nominated for 2 Awards - the Best Pre/Post Natal Activity category and the Most Outstanding Baby and Toddler Group as well as Volunteer Chair, Lucy Elder being nominated for the Most Outstanding Community Group Volunteer for children, babies or families. This means the branch has received at least 12 nominations in total and will now go through to the national voting stage!
This year, the awards are bigger than ever, covering 20 different categories ranging from Best Pre/Post Natal Activity to Best After School Club. A record 6,400 nominations have been received - 40% more than in 2012 and so this nomination is a great achievement.
Lucy Elder, NCT Lewes & Countryside Chair commented: ‘I am thrilled our branch has been nominated, the committee has worked really hard during the past 12 months to successfully grow our 3 Bumps and Babies groups in Lewes and Cooksbridge as well as our Young Parent Groups in Newhaven. I would like to thank everyone who has voted so far and for the support of the local parents and community.’
Each and every children's activity, party venue, entertainer and volunteer from throughout the UK had the opportunity to be nominated and the number of nominations this year reflects the support from the nations parents for these exciting awards and their eagerness to reward the very best!
From 18th March to 28th May 2013, parents can log onto any of the award winning on-line directories - to vote for their favourite from all of the nominees which have qualified. There is still time to vote so please nominate now!
The winners will be announced by TV celebrity host Lucy Piper at Brighton Racecourse on Sunday 30th June. During the champagne awards ceremony the winners of the community awards will also receive special prizes for their groups. Everyone who votes or nominates will also be in with a chance to win 2 VIP tickets to the awards ceremony, meet the finalists, sponsors and VIP guests.
What's On 4 UK owners Marilyn Bradshaw & Bev O'Sullivan commented: "We're so excited about our 2013 Awards especially as this year the UK awards are running alongside both the Australian AND Ireland What's On 4 Junior Awards! Everyone through to this stage should be very proud that the nation's parents are so keen to nominate and reward them. We can't wait to see the results of the voting!"
